Little Note from Daikanyama

Hello again!!! Masih fakir Wi-fi sampai saat ini.

Finding place to solitude yourself here in Tokyo is so easy. Besides my favorite spot near house, Starbucks Meguro Headquarter, this place become my favorite spot instantly after being introduced with one of my friend here last week. One of the reason why I want her to take me here is because she said that this place is one of the best architecture building. And yes, I couldn’t close my mouth when I saw this place. It’s Tsutaya Bookstore in Daikanyama, Shibuya, Tokyo––or simply called it Daikanyama T-Site. 

And now, here I am take my husband out of home, cycling here around 25 minutes to give him some option to hangout and to get to know his neighbourhood. It’s located in suburb Shibuya, near Nakameguro which is very close to our home in Meguro, and we choose cycling instead of using train.

Of course, one of the reason I really love this place is they have Starbucks boutique inside, but the main reason why I love this place is the concept of the bookstore itself. It’s more than just ordinary Tsutaya Bookstore that you’ll find near Tokyo, like the one you’ll find near famous Shibuya Crossing. It’s Heaven! The building consist of three parts, connecting by the bridge on the second floor, they also have Family Market, Restaraurants, Camera Store, Pet Services, Bicycle Services, Toys, well everything you want for entertainments (movies, music, all kind of books, magazines, stationery) in one place! Well you can say it’s like a “mall” haha! 

Here is not allowed to take pict, and shutter camera on Japan's mobile phone (any brand of mobile phone that you buy in Japan) cannot be mute even if you’re in silent mode. Sometimes this will make you feel more content and present, not too busy with your own mobile phone.

What I see here people picked their own favorite novel, bunch of magazines to read here while enjoying their coffee, picked their favorite CD and listening to it, spending an hour, hours, satisfying their intellectual desire. It’s better to come here on weekdays because it’s bit crowded (sometimes many) on weekend.

It's very different atmosphere of Tokyo here and many unique buildings architecture you can find here. I love it.

If you travel to Japan, especially Tokyo, mark this place and Daikanyama neighbourhood on your “where-to-go” list ;)
